VALENTINE’s SWEETIES

Another one I should have posted ages ago! This was a COOP and CABOODLE party we did for a couple of gorgeous little girls (twins!) in February. It looked so wonderful — and the girls LOVED it! Pink, Red, hearts, candies, cookies, fresh flowers — it had all the makings for a fabulous celebration! With the WHOLE COOP and CABOODLE package we include flowers — so I did 2 very large — super gorgeous pink and red arrangements and used them as the main focus for the main table in the lobby. We had heart shaped balloons on the goody bags, high chairs for the guests of honor festooned with feathers, matching heart shaped birthday cakes for the girls…. and Giant birthday Balloons inside and out adding to the festive feel! I used my hand dip dyed pink ombre table cloths — which I adore, inside and out. Super fun and festive. The kids all got Little teddy bears with hears on them, red mylar wigs, and heart shaped head boppers (very cute on!) — and tutus for the girls and red capes for the boys. It really was a spectacular party… and mom was thrilled with how it all came together.

SUPER MOD SAFARI

My goodness… this party was soooo long ago! And soooo fabulous! I can’t believe I haven’t posted it yet. It was actually the inspiration for Ashlee Simpson’s Bronx Zoo Party — I had done this shortly before I met with her and thought it would be a great theme for her — if we just boy-ed it up — and made it more traditional safari / zoo-ish! This one was NOT very traditional. This one was for my sweet little Grace… my friend Jen’s little girl. She’s the one who had the Dolphin, Donut, Disco party last year. Grace has lots of ideas and opinions — and I just LOVE taking her ideas and turning them into a gorgeous party! When I talked to her — she told me that her favorite colors were blue and red and she wanted them to be the colors of her party. Her mom was pretty horrified by this color combo (I think most people immediately think Spiderman when they hear those two colors together) but I wanted to give her JUST what she wanted. I ADORE Turquoise and red together — I think its such a fresh color combo — so we used that as our palette for the party. I wanted to make it non traditional — partly because of the fab color combo — so I went with that idea and went for a very MOD Jungle Safari look. Turquoise, Red and White… stark white super modern vases filled with bright red blooms and bright white ceramic animal sculptures on the table (Oh how I miss that lucky Elephant… he lived on my mantle until my hubby whacked him with the Christmas tree and he shattered into a million pieces!) I spent at least 2 weeks painting the giant Elephant, Giraffe and Lion banners… but they were worth it. I think they turned out amazing. And we have used them over and over at the COOP — which always makes the hard work worthwhile! They made such an impact in the space — and I think the colors are so fun! Giant Balloons are Lucinda and my favorite modern party decoration — so we used red ones for this party. The original idea was to have the wooden monkey cut outs hold the balloons — but that did’t work out… so we just had them monkey-ing around in the bamboo plants outside! I also had silhouettes of animals framed in white and also on the jelly jar cups on the main table — where Julie from Blue Cupcake did another one of her amazing cake/ cupcake towers www.blucupcake.com All the kids got to take home animal ear and tail sets, an animal puppet and stuffed animal in their goody bag. AND — there was a real live animal show outside the front lobby. This was a spectacular party — for a pretty spectacular little lady! Hope you are inspired by the pics!

NINJA!!!

Sometimes it’s the moms of boys who are the most appreciative of what we do here at the COOP. I think moms of girls are around fabulousness all the time… so sometimes they are not as shocked by a gorgeous party… but us “boy moms” that are stuck with GI Joe, and spiderman, and sports parties — seem much more impressed when we are able to take a “boy” theme and make it look great! I can say all this because I am a mom of boys and have struggled with the “how do I make a football party look chic?” question myself! This party mom absolutely fell into the category of super impressed “boy mom”. She was THRILLED with the party. She was so sweet — could NOT STOP gushing about how fabulous it was and couldn’t believe all she did was tell us “he wants a Ninja party”… and we were able to come up with this. We even added some flowers to make it special — but not girlie at all!!!! This is the second Ninja party we have done — and I think they look great. The last one wanted green accents so we did green runners — but this one I stuck with traditional silver, black and red Ninja colors for the tables and decor — and hung giant stars above the table (a la Ninja throwing stars!) All the boys and girls got inflatable Ninjas (we also used a couple of them as a centerpiece), a hooded black cape (super Ninja-ie!) and an inflatable ninja sword. Sometimes people are worried that girls won’t be excited for a “boy” gift…. but believe me — they LOVED it! Boys and girls alike love an opportunity to dress up and pretend to be someone else! Especially someone as super cool as a ninja! I also love love love the stickers we used for the goody bags. They are a simple modern interpretation on a ninja… just like the COOP is a cool modern interpretation of a playspace!

PRINCESS PARTY

We have done quite a few Princess parties lately — so I thought I would post some images for you guys to check out. We love a Princess party here at the COOP. As moms of boys only — we revel in the opportunity to PINK it UP!!! We do two types of Princess parties, really — a tutu princess party… which I will post pics of as well… or this one which is the Princess DRESS party. The decor is the same really… Princess carriage as centerpiece, pink (or sometime people opt for purple) table runners and balloons. The girls for this party all go Princess Dresses (which are really just darling on!), a tiara, and a sparkle princess wand. The Knights in shining armor (the boys) all got to take home a knight costume and inflatable sword. The party is so gorgeous and girlie — but it’s a great party because the boys really LOVE their gift as well (who doesn’t want an inflatable sword!) As usual — we added some fresh flowers on the table (we really find it hard to resist … even when people don’t choose them when deciding on “extras” to add to the party.

THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ – COOP AND CABOODLE

It has taken me forever and a day to post pictures from this DIVINE party. I think in part because I put so much effort into it. I spent a couple of sleepless nights trying to figure out the best way to bring this incredible theme to light. I wanted to include so many of the detailed elements of color and whimsy and magic and I really hope that I achieved it. I cleared our usual retail shelves and set them up as the party favor station. I LOVED how it looked all gingham blue and white with the gorgeous red bows. The girls all took home a blue tutu, red hair bow, white gloves and a wand and all the kiddies got to fill their basket with yummy candy. The boys gift was centered around the adorable LION with Lion tails and ears and a Lion hand puppet that gave a good roar when you squeezed him. I added ruby slipper candy and our ginormous balloons as well as festive hats and rainbow fruit. Juliet and I put SO much effort into all our parties BIG and SMALL, we just love it. And really, we are so lucky to give people a little “Somewhere over the rainbow – were dreams really do come true”.

Equestrian…

This was our very first Equestrian party and I think it turned out beautifully. Mom had wanted something not to cutesy and not gimmicky so I stuck to a very simple color palate of brown, green, pink and white. Each of our little Equestrian’s took home white gloves, an inflatable horse and a pony on a stick. Julie of Blue Cupcakes topped off the look with her spot on cupcakes which helped the little ones gallop away after another FAB COOP Party with big, big smiles on their adorable little faces…

Don’t stop till you get enough!

I am so surprised that we have never been asked to create this theme before – I mean he is the King of POP…the one and only Michael Jackson! The little birthday boy on this one was so cute in his Michael Jackson party outfit that matched almost perfectly the party favors I had picked out. Black fedora, aviator sunglasses, a glitter microphone and of course a glitter glove – but only one. Off the Wall was pumping through the stereo and it was yet another COOP party that was OFF the charts..

COUPLE OF COOL COOP PICS

The fabulous COOP was just featured in this weeks US WEEKLY — which described us as “The HOT TOT PARTY SPOT”! It was so exciting. When they called Lucinda and told her they were going to do a piece on us — they asked us to send along some cool shots of the COOP — with no kids in them! We quickly realized we don’t actually have many of those! US WEEKLY was able to use some pics they had on file from some celeb parties that have been here — but it got Lucy and me thinking that we should probably have some good shots taken of our fab little place. My son Finn’s BDay was fast approaching — so I booked our fantastic photog Greg Fiore to shoot the party — and we had him shoot some pre party shots before everyone arrived. He got some really cool shots — a few of which we wanted to share with you here. Pretty fab, right?

PINKALICIOUS

AS promised… some GREAT photos of our recent Pinkalicious Party courtesy of our fabulous photographer Greg Fiore (gregfiore.net). I posted a few of the photos earlier — but here you can see why it’s always better to have a PRO shoot your party! Greg’s photos are so wonderful. Pinkalicious is one of our most popular parties for the little COOP chickadees. All the girlie girls love the over the top explosion of pink! Pink wigs, pink boas, pink tiaras…. so fun and just gorgeous. This particular party was kind of a COOP and CABOODLE in that we really did all the extras — the big birthday balloons, the gorgeous fresh flowers, fruit platters, adult pizza… and blue cupcake did the fabulous cake. The party turned out beautifully — and the birthday girl was thrilled! She’s a regular COOP kid — so we knew she’s have fun… but even she was impressed with just how gorgeous and PINK the party was.

CONSTRUCTION COOP and CABOODLE

Here are some pics form a recent CONSTRUCTION themed COOP and CABOODLE party. The WHOLE COOP and CABOODLE package is our totally full service package — where we handle everything (including adult food and cake) — and you get all the “extras”… fresh flowers, face painter, big birthday balloons, etc. It’s our most full service an fabulous party… and we can do just about any theme you or your little one can think up! In this case… the birthday boy was super into Construction trucks so we went with that as our theme. Our major colors were black, yellow and orange — which of course match our COOP colors just perfectly! Guests were greeted by two enormous birthday balloons anchored with construction cones (we had some outside as well — I loved how they looked!) In the main room, I did “road” table runners — and on the outside food table I simply uses strips of yellow duck tape on black tablecloths for a “road” effect. The main table had the cupcake tower from the amazing Julie (blue cupcakes.com), which is always gorgeous and a big hit…. as well as some beautiful flower arrangements in yellows and green and white. The gifts were out on the table when the guests arrive — ad we bagged them up before cake time for everyone to take home. The gifts were fabulous — and the mom was sooooo impressed. She said several times “Your gift bags are amaaaaazing!”. That always makes me happy. For this party — all the kids got an adorable construction vest, a construction cone sippy cup, a construction hat and a pull back construction vehicle. Quite a score for the partygoers!! The kids were crazy about them — and they looked so adorable in their vests and hats. I also used some actual construction trucks in the decor — which the birthday boy loved! Another super cute addition (and I don’t have pics unfortunately) — was these small construction hats that were used as snack cups… filled with goldfish. So cute. All in all — another GREAT party at the COOP!
